The author gives some conditions describing the quantitative boundary behavior of the Kobayashi distance \(k_D\) of a pseudoconvex Reinhardt domain \(D\), which may be summarized in the following theorems. 1. Let \(D\subset\mathbb C^n\) be a pseudoconvex Reinhardt domain. Fix \(z_0\in D\) and \(\zeta_0\in\partial D\). Then there is a constant \(C\) such that \[ k_D(z_0,z)\leq-\log d_D(z)+C, \] whenever \(D\ni z\to\zeta_0\), where \(d_D(z)\) denotes the distance of the point \(z\) to the boundary \(\partial D\) of the domain \(D\). 2. If we assume, additionaly, that \(\zeta_0\in\partial D\cap\text{int\,}\overline{D}\), then there is a constant \(C\) such that \[ k_D(z_0,z)\leq\frac12\log(-\log d_D(z))+C, \] whenever \(D\ni z\to\zeta_0\). 3. On the other hand, if we in Theorem 1 additionally assume that \(D\) is \(\mathcal C^1\)-smooth, then there is a constant \(C\) such that \[ k_D(z_0,z)\geq-\frac12\log d_D(z)+C, \] whenever \(D\ni z\to\zeta_0\) nontangentially. At the end of the paper a short list of open problems concerning the boundary behavior of the Kobayashi distance in pseudoconvex Reinhardt domains is given.
