A \textit{tadpole} is the integral \(\int A{\mathcal D}^{-1}\) in the so-called Chamseddine-Connes action associated to a spectral triple \(({\mathcal A}, {\mathcal H}, {\mathcal D})\) given by the formula \[ S({\mathcal D}_A,\Phi,\Lambda)=\sum_{0<k\in Sd^+} \Phi_k\Lambda^k \int |{\mathcal D}_A|^{-k} +\Phi(0)\zeta_{{\mathcal D}_A}(0)+{\mathcal O}(\Lambda^{-1}), \] where \(A=\sum_i a_i[{\mathcal D}, b_i], a_i,b_i\in {\mathcal A}\) is a 1-form, \({\mathcal D}_A={\mathcal D}+A\), \(\Phi_k=\int_0^{\infty} \Phi(t)t^{{k\over 2}-1}dt\), \(Sd^+\) the strictly positive part of the dimension spectrum of the triple and \(\zeta_{{\mathcal D}_A}=Tr~(|{\mathcal D}_A|^{-s})\) a zeta function (see \textit{A.~H.~Chamseddine} and \textit{A.~Connes} [Commun. Math. Phys. 186, No. 3, 731--750 (1997; Zbl 0894.58007)] for the details and notation). The main result of the paper asserts that there are no tadpoles, i.e. \(\int A{\mathcal D}^{-1}=0\), in the commutative spectral triples of any dimension \(k\).
