Some properties of Umar semigroups: isomorphism theorems, ranks and maximal inverse subsemigroups (Q722572)

In [Port. Math. 51, No. 4, 553--570 (1994; Zbl 0828.20066)], \textit{A. Umar} constructed the semigroup $F_Y(X)$ which consists of all Vagner maps in $T(X)$. This semigroup naturally generalizes the Vagner one-point completion of the symmetric inverse semigroup. In Section 3, the authors establish some isomorphism theorems for finite semigroups of the form $F_Y(X)$. In Section 4, the authors compute their ranks. In Section 5, the authors determine all maximal inverse subsemigroups of an arbitrary transformation semigroup of the form $F_Y(X)$ which is not inverse.
