In this paper, the author studies several interesting properties of \textit{B. Dwork}'s \(p\)-adic hypergeometric functions [Publ. Math., Inst. Hautes Étud. Sci. 37, 27--115 (1969; Zbl 0284.14008)]\Nand derives a new transformation formula connecting the values of the function at \(t\) and \(t-1\). The work further establishes a finite-field analogue of this transformation formula, which subsequently yields a special case of the corresponding transformation formula for Dwork's \(p\)-adic hypergeometric function. The results provide a useful contribution to the theory of \(p\)-adic hypergeometric
