In this paper, a new approach using geometric singular perturbation theory is used to track the limiting behavior of the solutions of the planar slow-fast system \[ \dot x=\varepsilon f(x,z,\varepsilon), \;\dot z=g(x,z,\varepsilon)z, \] where \(x\) and \(z\) represent slow and fast variable, respectively. The bifurcation delay which occurs in this system, provided that \(f(x,0,0)>0\) and \(g(x,0,0)\) changes sign at least once on the \(x\)-axis is analyzed by using the simplified version of the Exchange Lemma.
