Elasticity interface problems are of great importance, especially when dealing with heterogeneous media characterized by distinct material properties. These problems often involve discontinuities in stress and strain across different material regions, which pose challenges for numerical solutions. In this paper, a locking-free method, the immersed enriched Galerkin (IEG) method, is presented for elasticity interface problems, when the material approaches incompressibility. The displacement is enriched by discontinuous piecewise functions, which do not require the imposition of interface conditions. Optimal error estimates are established in the energy norm that is independent of the Lamé constant. Numerical experiments confirm the optimal convergence and locking-free property of the IEG method.
