In this expository paper, the Weyl calculus for bounded, selfadjoint operators on a Hilbert space is described. The original Weyl correspondence for the position and momentum operators is described as well. The most interesting part is the multi-variable Weyl correspondence for bounded selfadjoint operators which are not necessarily commuting. For polynomials, the Weyl calculus is consistent with the natural algebraic definition. In the last part of the paper, the connection of the Weyl calculus with some recent developments in functional calculi is discussed.
