The Bar-Natan skein module of the solid torus and the homology of \((n, n)\) Springer varieties (Q735048)

The Bar-Natan skein module of 3-manifolds arose from the study of Khovanov homology for tangles and cobordisms [\textit{D. Bar-Natan}, Geom. Topol. 9, 1443--1499 (2005; Zbl 1084.57011)]. In the present paper, an isomorphism is established between the Bar-Natan skein module of the solid torus with a particular boundary curve system and the homology of the \((n,n)\)-Springer variety (complete flags in \(\mathbb C^n\) fixed by a nilpotent matrix with two Jordan blocks of size \(n\)), building on the computation of the cohomology ring of the Springer variety by \textit{M. Khovanov} [Commun. Contemp. Math. 6, No. 4, 561--577 (2004; Zbl 1079.57009)]. Also, a formula for comultiplication in the Bar-Natan skein module for this specific 3-manifold is given.
