The author considers the density properties of the set of values of a linear map at integer points on a quadratic surface. The main theorem is the following. Let \(Q\) be a non-degenerate, indefinite quadratic form on \(\mathbb R^d\) with rational coefficients. For \(a\in \mathbb Q\) let \(X_{\mathbb R}^a\) the set of all \(x\in \mathbb R^d\) with \(Q(x)=a\) and let \(X_{\mathbb Z}^a\) the set of integer points of \(X_{\mathbb R}^a\). We assume that \(X_{\mathbb Z}^a\) is infinite. Let \(M=(L_1,\ldots,L_s):\mathbb R^d\rightarrow \mathbb R^s\) be a linear map. Assume that \(d>2s\), the quadratic form \(Q\) on the kernel of \(M\) is infinite with rank \(>2\), and that for all nonzero \(\alpha\in \mathbb R^s\) \(\alpha_1L_1+\cdots +\alpha_s L_s\) is irrational. Then the image of \(M\) is dense in \(\mathbb R^s\). The statement has several straightforward applications. The proof is bases on Ratner's orbit closure theorem.
