This work can be seen as a natural continuation of the articles by \textit{A. E. Kovtanyuk} and \textit{I. V. Prokhorov} [J. Comput. Appl. Math. 235, No. 8, 2006--2014 (2011; Zbl 1213.65154)] and by \textit{I. V. Prokhorov} [Sib. Math. J. 53, No. 2, 301--309 (2012; Zbl 1254.45011); translation from Sib. Mat. Zh. 53, No. 2, 377--387 (2012; Zbl 1254.45011)], where the main focus is on the analysis of boundary value problems for the nonstationary equation of radiative transfer. Now, the authors conclude that the Cauchy problem for the nonstationary equation of transfer (in a three-dimensional bounded domain) with the Fresnel matching condition is well posed. The main idea is based on a reducing of the original initial boundary value problem to an abstract Cauchy problem for the evolution equation and on the application of the Hille-Yosida theorem.
