The authors derive a Feynman-Kac representation for the partition function of the Heisenberg model on an arbitrary finite lattice \(\Lambda\) using the theory of coherent states, which form a Kähler manifold \(x_{k\in \Lambda}S^ 2\). This classical spin configuration space is extended to a holomorphic line bundle and twisted with the Dolbeaut complex. A U(1)-gauged \(CP_ 1\)-quantum field theory is defined on the twisted bundle by a Hamiltonian that is the sum of the supersymmetric twisted Dolbeaut Laplace operator (multiplied by the inverse of an arbitrary mass parameter for regularization) and the lifted Heisenberg Hamiltonian. The resulting Lagrangian is nonlocal and describes bosons which do and fermions which do not propagate through the lattice. A heat kernel representation for the original partition function is obtained via the Bott-Borel-Weil theorem. In the paper the whole approach is extended, following \textit{B. Simon} [Commun. Math. Phys. 71, 247-276 (1980; Zbl 0436.22012)] from SU(2) to arbitrary compact semi-simple Lie groups and arbitrary irreducible representations. Moreover the coupling in spin space may be chosen to be anisotropic.
