Let F be a skew field and let \({\mathcal F}\) be a sharply transitive subset of the group \(P\Gamma L_ 2F\). Assume that F has finite dimension over the subfield K of the center of F which is fixed elementwise by the companion automorphisms of the elements of \({\mathcal F}\). Then \({\mathcal F}\) allows to define a spread of the vector space \(F^ 4\) over K; this spread has a regular cover in the sense of \textit{M. Walker} [J. Comb. Theory, Ser. A 38, 113-130 (1985; Zbl 0583.51006)], i.e. the spread is a union of derivable partial spreads all of which intersect in the same two subspaces. In the special case where F is commutative and \({\mathcal F}\) is contained in \(PGL_ 2F\), these spreads correspond to flocks in Miquelian Minkowski planes [cp. \textit{J. C. Fisher} and \textit{J. A. Thas}, Math. Z. 169, 1-11 (1979; Zbl 0396.51009)].
