Given an algebraic number field \(K\) and a prime number \(\ell\), \textit{K. Buzzard, F. Diamond} and \textit{F. Jarvis} [Duke Math.\ J.\ 155, No. 1, 105--161 (2010; Zbl 1227.11070)] have developed a variant of Serre's conjecture concerning irreducible continuous representations of the absolute Galois group of \(K\) on 2-dimensional vector spaces over \(\overline{\mathbb F}_\ell\). The author specifically treats the case of imaginary quadratic \(K\) of class-number one. Most facts are formulated for \(K=\mathbb Q(\text{i}),\) but it is stressed, that similar data (in particular matrices) can be given for every number field under consideration, as has been done in her doctoral thesis. Of particular interest is the recipe associating to a representation as above the weight of the corresponding cohomological mod \(\ell\) modular form. The author can prove some general facts about these and gives numerical evidence for the correctness of the recipe in some cases. Modular symbols and the Steinberg-module play a central role in her computations.
