The convergence in law of random walks on finite quantum groups whose marginals are central states is studied. The main tool are estimates the of distance of these states to the Haar state (similar to [\textit{J. P. McCarthy}, J. Fourier Anal. Appl. 25, No. 5, 2463--2491 (2019; Zbl 1444.46044)]). The finite quantum groups considered are the eight-dimensional Kac-Palyutkin quantum group introduced in [\textit{G.~I. Kats} and \textit{V.~G. Palyutkin}, Trans. Mosc. Math. Soc. 15 (1966), 251--294 (1967; Zbl 0218.43005), translation from Tr. Mosk. Mat. O.-va 15, 224--261 (1966)] and an infinite family introduced by \textit{Y.~Sekine} [Proc. Am. Math. Soc. 124, No. 4, 1139--1147 (1996; Zbl 0845.46031)]. All central states are classified according to their asymptotic behaviour, and all idempotent central states on these finite quantum groups are determined. The cut-off phenomenon is also investigated.
