The aim of the paper is to extend to the vector-valued case some classical results on C(K)-spaces involving weak compactness. We quote two statements as samples. Corollary 4. If X is a Banach space with a shrinking unconditional basis then every unconditionally converging operator \(T:C(K,X)\to Y\) is weakly compact. Proposition 5. Let X be a Banach space with a shrinking basis. Then every Dunford-Pettis operator \(T:C(K,X)\to Y\) is weakly compact. (An operator T is said to be: (a) unconditionally coverging if \(Tx_ n\to 0\) for every \(weak\)-\(\ell^ 1\) sequence \(\{x_ n\};\) (b) a Dunford-Pettis operator if the same holds for every weak Cauchy sequence \(\{x_ n\})\).
