Author calculates double velocity correlations for homogeneous turbulence with constant mean velocity gradient. He neglects nonlinear terms, assuming weak turbulence. With the further assumption of constant mean shear, the equations for the velocity fluctuations become linear with constant coefficients and are solved using standard Fourier transform techniques. The resulting expressions for the two-term velocity correlations are still quite lengthy. The assumption of small mean shear further simplifies the picture.
