Levi-Civita [\textit{T. Levi-Civita} and \textit{U. Amaldi}, Lezioni di meccanica razionale, Vol. II, part 2 (1952; Zbl 0047.17302)] proved a theorem which permits to find particular solutions of autonomous equations describing the motion of a conservative holonomic dynamical system. Such equations admit time independent invariant relations. In this paper the authors develop a generalization of this theorem: the dynamical equations involve, at present, constraint multipliers and admit invariant relations containing the time explicitly. Some examples which illustrate this generalized Levi-Civita's technique are also discussed.
