The author and his students and colleagues have introduced and explored the considerable potential of their so called \(F_ N\) method for obtaining accurate approximate solutions to a large class of transport problems. In the present paper, the author extends work he has done with \textit{R. D. M. Garcia} [J. Comput. Phys. 46, 237-270 (1982; Zbl 0481.45010)] and apply integral transform technique and the \(F_ N\) method to include and account for the effects of internal emission and reflecting boundaries on the solution of the one-group neutron-photon slab transport equation with general anisotropic scattering. An advantage of the integral transform technique is that it does not require familiarity with elementary solutions to the transport equation under consideration. The paper emphasizes the azimuthally symmetric component of the complete radiation field.
