      In the region \(t>0\), \(x>0\), \(-\infty <y_ k<\infty\), \(k=1,2,...,n\) is considered the following mixed problem \((1)\quad {\mathcal L}(\partial /\partial t,\partial /\partial x,\partial /\partial y_ 1,...,\partial /\partial y_ n)u=0, t>0,x>0 (2)\quad (p\partial /\partial t+q\partial /\partial x+\sum^{n}_{k=1}\tau_ k\partial /\partial y_ k)u=0,\quad x=0 (3)\quad\partial u/\partial t=\phi, u=\xi, t=0\) where p, q, \(\tau_ k\) are complex numbers and u, \(\phi\), \(\xi\) are complex value functions. Also, for the initial and boundary value data are fulfilled consistent conditions, \({\mathcal L}\) is a strictly hyperbolic second-order operator with constant coefficients, the boundary \(x=0\) is noncharacteristic for \({\mathcal L}\) and the operator \({\mathcal L}\) requires one boundary condition on the boundary \(x=0.\) The problem (1)-(3) was studied by Miyatake using a pseudo-differential technique. Here, the equivalence between (1)-(3) and a specially constructed first-order symmetric hyperbolic system with dissipative boundary conditions is proved if the uniform Lopatinski condition is satisfied. These result (n arbitrary) generalize previous works of V. M. Gordienko and N. G. Marchuk, where \(n=1\), u, \(\phi\), \(\xi\) are vector functions and p, q, \(\tau_ k\) are quadratic matrices.
