    This work is extremely well written and mathematically organized in an outstanding way. It begins with the definition of the so called J-J type problem. It is the study of the dynamical behavior of the equation \[ (1.1)\quad \ddot x+\beta (1+\epsilon f'(x))\dot x+f(x) = \rho +bg(t), \] where \(f(x), g(x)\) satisfy the following conditions: \(f,g\in C^ 2\); \[ f(-x)=-f(x),\quad f(x+2\pi)=f(x),\quad f(x+\pi)=-f(x),\quad f(\pi - x)=f(x), \] \[ f'(x)>0,\quad x\in [0,x/2),\quad | f(x)| \leq 1,\quad | f'(x)| \leq 2/\pi; \] \[ (1.2) \quad f(x)= \begin{cases} \frac{2}{\pi}x, & x\in \left[- \frac{\pi}{2}+\frac{1}{\rho},\quad \frac{\pi}{2}-\frac{1}{\rho}\right] \\ 2- \frac{2}{\pi}x, & x\in \left[\frac{\pi}{2}+\frac{1}{\rho},\quad \frac{3}{2}\pi -\frac{1}{\rho}\right];\end{cases} \] \[ g(-t)<-g(t),\quad g(t+T)=g(t),\quad g(t+T/2)=-g(t),\quad g((T/2)-t)=g(t), \] \[ (1.3)\quad g'(t)\geq 0,\quad t\in [0,T/4],\quad | g(t)| \leq 1, \] \(\rho>\max \{1+b,2/\pi\}\), \(\beta >0\), \(b\geq 0\), \(\delta\) is arbitrary. Then (1.1) is said to be of the J-J type. An alternate equation of the type, \[ (2.1)\quad \dot x=y-\beta (x+\delta f(x)),\quad \dot y=-f(x)+\rho +bg(t), \] where \(f,g\in C^ 2\) and satisfy (1.2), (1.3), \(\rho >\max \left\{1+b,\frac{2}{\pi}\right\}\), \(\beta >0\), \(b\geq 0\), \(\delta\) is arbitrary, is studied. The paper then carefully completely solves the problem in a series of well organized lemmas including elegant proofs. Several theorems are stated without proofs and the principle conclusion is that no chaotic motion takes place. In fact every trajectory is asymptotically periodic or quasi-periodic.
