Let (\(M,\partial M\)) be a 3-manifold, which carries a hyperbolic metric with convex boundary. We assume that the hyperbolic metrics on \(M\) is such that the boundary is smooth and strictly convex. Then the author proves the following two main theorems: Theorem 1: Let \(g\) be a hyperbolic metric on \(M\) such that \(\partial M\) is \( C^{\infty }\) and strictly convex. Then the induced metric \(I\) on \(\partial M\) has curvature \(K>-1\). Each \(C^{\infty }\) metric on \(\partial M\) with \(K>-1\) is induced on \(\partial M\) for a unique choice of \(g\). Theorem 2: Let \(g\) be a hyperbolic metric on \(M\) such that \(\partial M\) is \( C^{\infty }\) and strictly convex. Then the third fundamental form \(III\) of \( \partial M\) has curvature \(K<1\), and its closed geodesics which are contractible in \(M\) have length \(L>2\pi \). Each such metric is obtained for a unique choice of \(g\).
