Triviality of the peripheral point spectrum (Q816568)

For \(e^{Zt}\) a positive one-parameter contraction semigroup on \(l^p(X)\) for a countable set \(X\), or a positive one-parameter contraction Feller semigroup on \(L^p(X)\) for \(X\) a locally compact regular measure space, it is proved that the peripheral point spectrum of \(Z\) does not contain any nonzero elements.
