Positive semigroups of kernel operators (Q2481630)

In this paper, the author proves that the peripheral point spectrum of the generator of a positive bounded \(C_0\)-semigroup of kernel operators on \(L^p\) is reduced to 0. This result extends the ones by E.\,B.\thinspace Davies and by V.\,Keicher on \(l^p\) and gives a necessary condition for strong convergence to a strictly positive rank-one operator. Moreover, the author proves that the assumption that the peripheral spectrum is trivial implies convergence to an equilibrium if the semigroup is irreducible and if a nonzero fixed vector exists. Lastly, the previous results are applied to elliptic operators.
