Let \(p\) be an odd prime number, and let \(k\) be an algebraically closed field of characteristic zero. Hopf algebras of dimension \(p\) and \(p^2\) over \(k\) have been classified, respectively, by \textit{G. I. Kac} [Funkts. Anal. Prilozh. 6, No. 2, 88-90 (1972; Zbl 0258.16007)], and \textit{Y. Zhu} [Int. Math. Res. Not. 1994, No. 1, 53-59 (1994; Zbl 0822.16036)], and \textit{A. Masuoka} [Proc. Am. Math. Soc. 124, No. 3, 735-737 (1996; Zbl 0848.16033)], and \textit{S.-H. Ng} [J. Algebra 255, No. 1, 182-197 (2002; Zbl 1041.16028)]. On the other hand, semisimple Hopf algebras of dimension \(p^3\) were classified by \textit{A. Masuoka} [J. Algebra 178, No. 3, 791-806 (1995; Zbl 0840.16031)]. In this paper, the author considers the problem of classifying (nonsemisimple) Hopf algebras of dimension \(p^3\). He distinguishes \(10\) cases, according to the structure of group-like elements, and shows that in \(8\) of these cases, it is possible to determine the structure of the Hopf algebra. Partial classification results for quasitriangular Hopf algebras of dimension \(p^3\) are also given, and it is shown that a ribbon Hopf algebra of this dimension is either a group algebra or a Frobenius-Lusztig kernel. He completely classifies quasitriangular Hopf algebras of dimension \(27\).
