In this interesting paper, the authors introduce a certain property \(\mathfrak{P}\) with some kind of finiteness, and discuss some characterizations of point-star networks consisting of \(\mathfrak{P}\) and \(cs^{\ast}\)-coverings in Cauchy \(sn\)-symmetric spaces. They extend and unify some results of \textit{Tran Van An} and \textit{Luong Quoc Tuyen} [Topol. Proc. 51, 61--75 (2018; Zbl 1388.54014)], and give a partial answer to the following question posed by \textit{Y. Tanaka} and \textit{Y. Ge} [Houston J. Math. 32, No. 1, 99--117 (2006; Zbl 1102.54034)]: Is a symmetric space having a \(\sigma\)-point-finite \(cs^{\ast}\)-network a quotient compact image of a metric space? Especially, they obtain the following result: Theorem. The following are equivalent for a Cauchy \(sn\)-symmetric space \(X\):\\ (1) \(X\) has a \(\sigma\)-\(cs\)-finite \(cs^{\ast}\)-network.\\ (2) \(X\) has a \(\sigma\)-\(sn\)-finite \(cs^{\ast}\)-network.\\ (3) \(X\) has a point-star network consisting of \(cs\)-finite and \(cs^{\ast}\)-coverings.\\ (4) \(X\) has a point-star network consisting of \(sn\)-finite and \(cs^{\ast}\)-coverings.\\ (5) \(X\) is a pseudo-sequence-covering, compact and mssnc-image of a metric space.\\ (6) \(X\) is a sequentially quotient and \(\sigma\)-\(cs\)-finite-image of a metric space. Relations are established between spaces with point-star networks consisting of \(cs\)-finite (or \(sn\)-finite) \(cs^{\ast}\)-coverings and certain images of metric spaces. Therefore, the above theorem enriches the idea of the mutual classifications on mappings and spaces.
