The authors in the paper under review introduce the notion of the interpolated finite multiple zeta values and study their algebraic relations. There are two types of finite multiple zeta(-star) values introduced by Kaneko and Zagier. For a sequence \(\mathbf{k}=(k_1,\ldots,k_r)\) of positive integers, the \(\mathcal{A}\)-multiple zeta vales and the \(\mathcal{A}\)-multiple zeta-star values are defined respectively by \begin{align*} &\zeta_{\mathcal{A}}(\mathbf{k})=\left(\sum\limits_{1\leq m_1<\cdots<m_r<p}\frac{1}{m_1^{k_1}\cdots m_r^{k_r}}\mod p\right)_p\in\mathcal{A}=\Pi_p\mathbb{F}_p/\oplus_p\mathbb{F}_p,\\ &\zeta^{\star}_{\mathcal{A}}(\mathbf{k})=\left(\sum\limits_{1\leq m_1\leq\cdots\leq m_r<p}\frac{1}{m_1^{k_1}\cdots m_r^{k_r}}\mod p\right)_p\in\mathcal{A}. \end{align*} And the \(\mathcal{S}\)-multiple zeta values and the \(\mathcal{S}\)-multiple zeta-star values are defined respectively by \begin{align*} &\zeta_{\mathcal{S}}(\mathbf{k})=\sum\limits_{i=0}^r(-1)^{k_{i+1}+\cdots+k_r}\zeta(k_1,\ldots,k_i)\zeta(k_r,\ldots,k_{i+1}) \mod \zeta(2)\in\mathcal{Z}/\zeta(2)\mathcal{Z},\\ &\zeta^{\star}_{\mathcal{S}}(\mathbf{k})=\sum\limits_{\Box \text{ is either a comma `,' or a plus `+' }}\zeta_{\mathcal{S}}(k_1\Box\cdots\Box k_r)\in\mathcal{Z}/\zeta(2)\mathcal{Z}, \end{align*} where \(\zeta(k_1,\ldots,k_r)\) are the (regularized) multiple zeta values and \(\mathcal{Z}\) is the \(\mathbb{Q}\)-subspace of \(\mathbb{R}\) spanned by all multiple zeta values. Let \(t\) be a variable. The authors in this paper define the interpolated finite multiple zeta values by \[\zeta^t_{\mathcal{F}}(\mathbf{k})=\sum\limits_{\Box\text{ is either a comma `,' or a plus `+' } }\zeta_{\mathcal{F}}(k_1\Box\cdots\Box k_r)t^{(\text{the number of the\,}+\text{'s})},\] where \(\mathcal{F}=\mathcal{A}\) or \(\mathcal{S}\). As \(\zeta^0_{\mathcal{F}}=\zeta_{\mathcal{F}}\) and \(\zeta^1_{\mathcal{F}}=\zeta^{\star}_{\mathcal{F}}\), \(\zeta^t_{\mathcal{F}}\) is an interpolation polynomial of the finite multiple zeta values and the finite multiple zeta-star values. Several algebraic relations of the interpolated finite multiple zeta values are given in this paper, which include the cyclic sum formula, the Bowman-Bradley type formula, and the weighted sum formula. Furthermore, the harmonic relation, the shuffle relation, the duality relation, and the derivation relation are also introduced.
