The bicrossed product construction is a generalization of the semidirect product construction. In this paper, the authors investigate some aspects of the bicrossed product construction in its original finite group setting. First, they give the universal properties of bicrossed products and obtain the description of morphisms between a group and a bicrossed product. Then, the authors obtain the main result: for a prime number \(p\) and a positive integer \(m\geq 2\), a bicrossed product between two cyclic groups of orders \(p\) and, respectively, \(m\) is isomorphic to a semidirect product between cyclic groups of the same orders \(p\) and \(m\).
