A Navier-Stokes-Poisson problem with an external force for a compressible fluid is considered. The system describes the motion of a compressible viscous isentropic gas flow under the self-gravitational force with an external force. After defining finite energy weak solutions of the considered problem, their global behaviour is studied. The existence of bounded absorbing sets is proved and the asymptotic compactness of global trajectories generated by the Navier-Stokes-Poisson equations is obtained.
