The quantum Ising model with transverse field on the \(d\)-dimensional hypercubic lattice is considered. For the model it is shown that there is a unique sharp transition. In one dimension the value of the critical point is calculated. The quantum Ising model is expressed in terms of a (continuous) classical Ising model in \(d+1\) dimension. The random-parity representation of the quantum Ising model is described. The approach used is to prove a family of differential inequalities. This parallels some known methods for the analysis of the phase transitions in percolation and Ising models on discrete lattices.
