This paper introduces C-algebras of compact Riemann surfaces as non-commutative analogues of the Poisson algebra of smooth functions. The authors first describe Riemann surfaces of genus embedded in \(\mathbb R^3\) as inverse images of polynomial constraint functions. Then, they concentrate on the case of polynomial constraint C describing the two-sphere, the two-torus, and a transition region. Finally, the authors give a complete classifications of the two-sphere, the two-torus and transition using graph theory. This classification is finally compared with previously known matrix constructions for the sphere and the torus. For the torus case, the authors recover the results obtained by Berezin-Toeplitz-quantization.
