      A conjugation is a conjugate-linear operator \(C\) on a separable complex Hilbert space \(H\), which is both involutive (i.e., \(C^2=I\)) and isometric (i.e., \(\langle Cx,Cy\rangle =\langle y, x\rangle\) for all \(x, y \in H\)). A bounded linear operator \(T \in B(H)\) is called \(C\)-symmetric if \(T = CT^*C\) and complex symmetric if there exists a conjugation \(C\) with respect to which \(T\) is \(C\)-symmetric. The author considers the symmetric bilinear form \([x, y] := \langle x, Cy \rangle\). He establishes several conditions which are equivalent to \(|[Bx, x]| \leq \langle Ax, x\rangle\,\,(x \in H)\), where \(A\) is a nonnegative operator and \(B\) is a complex symmetric operator; see Theorem 2.1 of \textit{C.\,H.\thinspace Fitzgerald} and \textit{R.\,A.\thinspace Horn} [J.~Lond.\ Math.\ Soc.\ (2) 15, 419--430 (1977; Zbl 0368.15014)]. He also proves that an operator \(B\) is \(C\)-symmetric if and only if there exists \(T \in B(H)\) such that \(B = CT^*CT\) and thus extends a well-known property of complex symmetric \(n \times n\) matrices; see Corollary 4.4.6 of [\textit{R.\,A.\thinspace Horn} and \textit{C.\,R.\thinspace Johnson}, ``Matrix analysis'' (Cambridge Univ.\ Press) (1985; Zbl 0576.15001)].
