This article concerns the dynamics of groups of automorphisms of the complex projective space \(\mathbb P^n(\mathbb C)\). The authors focus on discrete subgroups \(G\) of \(PU(1,n)\). Recall that elements of \(PU(1,n)\) preserve the unit ball \(\mathbb H^n( \mathbb C)\) and are isometries for the Bergman metric. Let \(\Lambda\) denote the limit set of \(G\) in the sense of Chen-Greenberg; that set lies in the boundary of \(\mathbb H^n(\mathbb C)\). The main result of the paper asserts that the complement of the equicontinuity region of \(G\) in \(\mathbb P^n(\mathbb C)\) coincides with the union of hyperplanes taken at points of \(\Lambda\) and tangent to the boundary of the unit ball. Moreover, \(G\) acts discontinuously on that equicontinuity region: hence the limit sets of discrete subgroups of \(PU(1,n)\) and of \(PSL(2,\mathbb C)\) (Kleinian groups) behave similarly. The arguments rely on properties of pseudoprojective transformations, which are analogs of Furstenberg's quasiprojective transformations.
