Stability of a quadratic Jensen type functional equation in the spaces of generalized functions (Q852854)

\textit{Y.-W. Lee} [J. Math. Anal. Appl. 270, No. 2, 590--601 (2002; Zbl 1007.39026)] formulated and proved the stability of the following quadratic-Jensen type functional equation \[ 9f(\frac{x+y+z}{3})+f(x)+f(y)+f(z)=4\left[f(\frac{x+y}{2})+ f(\frac{y+z}{2})+f(\frac{z+x}{2})\right]. \] The authors of the present paper, by applying the fundamental solution of the heat equation, prove the stability of the functional equation above in the spaces of Schwartz tempered distributions and Fourier hyperfunctions.
