This paper studies operators on the weighted Bergman space~\(A^2_\alpha\) of holomorphic functions on the unit ball in \(\mathbb{C}^n\) that are square-integrable with respect to normalized Lebesgue measure multiplied by the factor \((1-| z| ^2)^\alpha\), where \(-1<\alpha<\infty\). When \(f\)~is an arbitrary square-integrable function (with respect to the weighted measure), the Toeplitz operator~\(T_f\) acts (as a densely defined operator) on~\(A^2_\alpha\) by multiplication by~\(f\) followed by orthogonal projection back into~\(A^2_\alpha\). The Berezin transform of an integrable function is obtained by integrating the function (with respect to the weighted measure) times the square of the modulus of the weighted Bergman kernel and dividing by the square of the \(A^2_\alpha\) norm of the weighted Bergman kernel. The authors prove that if \(f\) and~\(g\) are functions in~\(A^2_\alpha\) such that the product of Toeplitz operators \(T_f T_{\overline{g}}\) is bounded on~\(A^2_\alpha\), then the product of the Berezin transform of \(| f| ^2\) and the Berezin transform of \(| g| ^2\) is a bounded function on the ball. Moreover, this necessary condition is nearly sufficient: namely, if the product of the Berezin transform of \(| f| ^{2+\varepsilon}\) and the Berezin transform of \(| g| ^{2+\varepsilon}\) is a bounded function for some positive~\(\varepsilon\), then the operator \(T_f T_{\overline{g}}\) is bounded on~\(A^2_\alpha\). For the unweighted Bergman space (\(\alpha=0\)), analogous results were proved for the ball by \textit{Jong-Do Park} [Integral Equations Oper. Theory 54, No. 4, 571--584 (2006; Zbl 1109.47025)] and for the polydisc by the authors [J. Math. Anal. Appl. 278, No. 1, 125--135 (2003; Zbl 1051.47025)].
