The author is concerned with an attempt to understand the nature of mind and its relationship to matter, with particular attention to the issue of consciousness. Starting from the fact that such a problem has not been satisfactorily addressed by resorting to classical physics, he tries to settle it starting from quantum theory. Actually he takes as a starting point Bohm's interpretation of quantum mechanics, and more generally the philosophical work of Bohm. The whole book, written in a plain style, is mainly focussed on Bohm's attitude to quantum theory and to the considered philosophical questions, partly taking the form of a commentary to quotations from Bohm's works. The books touches upon many basic issues in quantum mechanics, even though the treatment lacks a deep grasp of the theory.
