The authors study some characteristics of Banach spaces (the modulus of squareness, the characteristic of nearly uniform convexity, the Opial modulus, etc.), the relations between them, and various geometric properties of Banach spaces defined by means of these characteristics in connection with the fixed point property for (compact convex)-valued nonexpansive multimaps on bounded closed convex subsets.
