In the paper the authors study the invariant module (of a virtual knot) over an algebra \(\mathcal F\) which is generated by two invertible generators \(x,y\) with one relation \(x^{-1}y^{-1}xy-y^{-1}xy=yx^{-1}y^{-1}x-x\). This algebra is closely related to the quantum Weyl algebra \(W_q\) in the notation of the paper under review. The authors associate with each link diagram a module over \(W_q\) by a method developed by the first named author, which involves the algebra \(\mathcal F\). In such a way, a correct generalization of Alexander modules is given and many finite-dimensional representations are provided.
