The authors prove the existence of a periodic solution to a second order ODE of Liénard type. The assumptions made on the nonlinearities are inspired from the paper \textit{T. Ding, R. Iannacci} and \textit{F. Zanolin}, J. Math. Anal. Appl. 158, 316--332 (1991; Zbl 0727.34030)]. The proof uses topological degree methods.
