Since \textit{H. Suzuki} [Fuzzy Sets Syst. 41, No.~3, 329--342 (1991; Zbl 0759.28015)] the concept of atoms of fuzzy measures is studied. Pseudo-atoms are a kind of sets which have properties similar to those of atoms. For pseudo-null-additive set functions pseudo-atoms are atoms and for null-additive set functions atoms are pseudo-atoms (but there are pseudo-atoms which are not atoms). If the set function is only null-null-additive the relation between pseudo-atoms and atoms is much more complex. The present paper studies pseudo-atoms af null-null-additive set functions in detail. The authors present necessary and sufficient conditions which ensure that a set of non-null measure contains no pseudo-atom. Further, they present several decomposition theorems about pseudo-atoms and atoms.
