The author shows that if a mapping \(f: X \to Y\) between linear spaces satisfies any one of the following equations then it is additive \[ \begin{aligned} &f\biggl(\frac{x+y}{2}+z\biggr)+ f\biggl(\frac{x-y}{2}+z\biggr)=f(x)+2f(z),\\ &f\biggl(\frac{x+y}{2}+z\biggr)- f\biggl(\frac{x-y}{2}+z\biggr)=f(y),\\ 2&f\biggl(\frac{x+y}{2}+z\biggr)= f(x)+f(y)+2f(z). \end{aligned} \] He also establishes the generalized Hyers-Ulam-Rassias stability of these functional equations in the context of Banach spaces and investigates the isomorphisms between unital Banach algebras. \textit{C. Park} [J. Math. Anal. Appl. 327, No. 1, 101--115 (2007; Zbl 1113.39033)] used these equations for the study of isomorphisms between \(C^*\)-ternary algebras, as well.
