The goal of this paper is to estimate the integrals \[ I_k(T)=\int_0^T\Delta(t)^k|\zeta(\tfrac12+it)|^2dt, \] where \(\Delta(x)\) is the error term in the Dirichlet divisor problem. The well-known similarity between \(\Delta(x)\) and the error term \(E(t)\) in the asymptotic formula for the second moment of \(|\zeta(\tfrac12+it)|\) makes this quite a natural problem to examine. The principle results are that \[ I_1(T)\ll T(\log T)^4 \] and that \[ I_k(T)=T^{1+k/4}(c_1(k)\log T+c_2(k))+O(T^{1+k/4-\eta_k+\varepsilon}) \] for integers \(k\in[2,8]\), for any fixed \(\varepsilon>0\). Here \(\eta_k>0\) is an explicit constant. For example one may take \(\eta_2=3/20\), and \(\eta_8=8/9433\). The main ingredients in the proofs are the Voronoi and Atkinson formulae for \(\Delta(x)\) and \(E(t)\), along with information on moments of \(\Delta(x)\) and \(|\zeta(\tfrac12+it)|\). Part I by the first author has been published in Filomat (2015) in press. Preprint available at \url{arXiv:1406.0604}.
