    The purpose of this paper is to study the existence and uniqueness of the solution of the following elliptic problem \[ \begin{cases} -\Delta u_i= \lambda_iu_i+\sum_{j=1, j\neq i}^na_{ij}u_j-\alpha_i(d(x))f_i(u_i)u_i&\text{in } \Omega,\\ u_i=M &\text{on } \partial \Omega, \end{cases}\tag{1} \] for each \(1\leq i\leq n,\) where \(M\in (0, \infty], \lambda_i, a_{ij}\in \mathbb R\) for all \(1\leq i\leq j\leq n, j\neq i, n\in \mathbb N,\) with \(a_{ij}>0\) and \(d(x):=d(x, \partial\Omega)\) for \(x\in \Omega\). The kind of domains \(\Omega\) considered here are the ball and the annulus. Under suitable conditions on the nonlinear terms \(f_i, 1\leq i\leq n,\) and based on the strong maximum principle, the authors prove the existence and uniqueness of the large solution of problem (1).
