The main topic of this paper is to study some sharp inequalities of Kolmogorov type (and other types) for the estimation of derivatives of a function in terms of its higher derivatives. This is done for higher dimensional setting, which is a much more difficult problem than the single-variable case. The topic has a long interesting story and should be considered as a very classical (and difficult) one. The authors demonstrate some very technical results that improve and generalize those proved by \textit{I. V. Berdnikova} and \textit{S. Z. Rafal'son} [Sov. Math. 29, No. 12, 1--5 (1985); translation from Izv. Vyssh. Uchebn. Zaved., Mat. 1985, No. 12(283), 3--6 (1985; Zbl 0616.26015)]. The paper also contains a comprehensive historical introduction that motivates very nicely the results they prove. I do not include in this review any concrete statement of those demonstrated in the paper because this would require the introduction of lots of notation, and will be quite involved. Proofs are extremely technical and notation is not easy to introduce. Moreover, the statements of main results depend on the introduction of some function spaces whose norms appear in the proposed inequalities as a main ingredient. Another important ingredient used through the paper are the so called Fourier-Hermite series of several variables.
