The authors introduce a new class of Lipschitz evolution operators and obtain necessary and sufficient conditions for the infinitesimal generators of such evolution operators, which generalize many results of the autonomous case. They apply the abstract theory to a concrete nonlinear wave equation and obtain the existence of global solution.
