    The authors study the Sturm-Liouville boundary value problem \[ \begin{gathered} -(p(x)u'(x))'+ q(x) u(x)= f(x,u(x)),\quad 0\leq x\leq 1,\\ \alpha u'(0)-\beta u(0)=0,\quad\gamma u'(1)+\sigma u(1)= 0,\end{gathered}\tag{1} \] where \(\alpha,\beta,\gamma,\sigma\geq 0\), \(\alpha^2+ \beta^2> 0\); \(\gamma^2+\sigma^2>0\); \(p\in C^1[0,1]\), \(q\in C[0,1]\); \(p,q> 0\); \((x,u)\to f(x,u)\) is continuous in \([0,1]\times\mathbb{R}\). Under corresponding conditions on the function \(f(x,u)\), the boundary value problem (1) has at least one positive solution; at least one negative solution or infinitely many sign-changing solutions.
