In this paper, the author associates to every finite dimensional algebraic structure (algebra, Hopf algebra, comodule algebra, etc.) \(W\) over a field \(K\) of characteristic zero, an abelian rigid symmetric monoidal category \(\mathcal C_W\) over a subfield \(K_0 \subseteq K\), which contains a structure \(\overline W\) of the same kind as \(W\) and an exact faithful symmetric monoidal functor \(F\) from \(\mathcal C\) to the category of \(K\)-vector spaces such that \(F(\overline W) = W\). These invariants are studied in connection with forms of \(W\). Some concrete examples are given arising from associative algebras and comodule algebras over a finite-dimensional Hopf algebra \(H\). A relation between the construction and the classification of two-cocycles on some finite-dimensional Hopf algebras is also established.
