    For a nonnegative continuous linear operator T and a nonnegative nonzero vector x (in a partially ordered Banach space) the following Collatz- Wielandt numbers \(\tilde r_ T(x)=\inf \{\mu \in {\mathbb{R}}:\quad Tx\leq \mu x\}\) and \(\underset \tilde{} r_ T(x)=\sup \{\lambda \in {\mathbb{R}}:\quad \lambda x\leq Tx\}\) are defined. Some relations between \(\tilde r\) and \(\underset \tilde{} r\) are obtained. In particular, \(\underset \tilde{} r_ T(x)\leq r_ T(x)=:\limsup_{n}\| T^ nx\|^{1/n}\leq \tilde r_ T(x)\) if the positive cone is normal. Also, conditions are obtained to guarantee the convergence of \(\tilde r_{T^ n}(x)\) to \(r_ T(x)\).
