\textit{R. M. Dudley} [see Ann. Probab. 6, 899-929 (1978; Zbl 0404.60016)] showed that the positivity sets of polynomials of bounded degree are Vapnik-Chervonenkis (VC) classes. The authors used the theory of semialgebraic sets to generate nontrivial examples of VC families.
