Let K be an algebraic number field of finite degree and f(X,T) a polynomial over K. For each \(\phi\) (X)\(\in {\mathbb{Z}}[X]\), denote by E(\(\phi\)) the set of all integers a with \(\phi^ m(a)=\phi^ n(a)\) for some \(m\neq n\). The paper establishes a condition for a polynomial \(\phi\) (X)\(\in {\mathbb{Z}}[X]\) to satisfy the following: If for \(n\in {\mathbb{N}}\), there exist \(r\in K\) and \(a\in {\mathbb{Z}}-E(\phi)\) such that \(f(r,\phi^ n(a))=0\), then there exists a rational function g(X) over K and \(k\in {\mathbb{N}}\) such that \(f(g(T),\phi^ k(T))=0.\) The main tools the author uses come from nonstandard arithmetic of algebraic number fields.
