    This is a long paper which is the continuation of the authors earlier research. The two-phase metric is defined by \(\varphi (x,\xi ): \alpha \chi B_{\alpha }|\xi |+\beta \chi B_{\beta }(x)|\xi |\), where \(\alpha \), \(\beta \) are fixed constants and \(B_{\alpha }\), \(B_{\beta }\) are disjoint Borel sets whose union is \(\mathbb R^{n}\). It is proved: If \(\phi \) is a norm on \(\mathbb R^{n}\) satisfying \(\alpha |\xi | \leq \varphi (x,\xi ) \leq \beta |\xi |\), then there exists a sequence \((\varphi _{n})_{n}\) of 1-periodic two-phase metrics of type \[ \varphi (x,\xi ) =\begin{cases} \alpha |\xi | & \text{if} x\in B_{\alpha }, \\ \beta |\xi | & \text{if } x\in B_{\beta }, \end{cases} \] such that \(\varphi _{n} \rightarrow \phi \). The homogenization of two-phase metrics is studied and it is proved that the closure of \({\mathcal M}^{\alpha ,\beta }_{p}\) is \({\mathcal N}\) and the closure of \({\mathcal M}^{\alpha ,\beta }\) is \({\mathcal M}({\mathbb R}^{N})\). The Cl\(({\mathcal M}^{\alpha ,\beta }_{\theta })\) with prescribed volume fraction \(\theta \) and its bound are examined. The localizations theorems are given. The applications to two-phase gradient constraints as its \(\Gamma\)-closure is given and the periodical case is considered. It is proved that the two-phase metrics are dense in the class of symmetric Finsler metrics \(\varphi (x,\xi )\), which are between \(\alpha |\xi|''\) and \(\beta |\xi |\).
